WHAT THE HELL IS A
FEATURE ENTERTAINER?
Well,
it works like this. I love dancing, and I have these great agents in Florida who
book me in gentleman's clubs all over the country, usually months in advance.
Tthese clubs pay me lots of money to come in and put on kick-ass shows for them
for one week only -- they use my name and my face and my xxx film credits to try
and get some new customers in the door. Offering the guys a little something
extra, you might say...which is not to take anything away from the girls who
work there all the time. When you go into your local strip club and see girls
who work there regularly, who have set schedules and dance their butts off three
to seven nights a week, those are called the HOUSE GIRLS. They work VERY hard
and have to put up with a lot of crap, and they get very little respect, so I
suggest you be nice to them and TIP THEM WELL!!!
Now, I was a house girl for several years,
dancing at clubs in Dayton, Ohio (I still have a home club there, as a matter of
fact, where I work occasionally when I'm not in LA shooting or on the road
featuring). Then I began doing some modeling, and I appeared in a few magazines,
and my name started getting recognized, and then I entered some contests, and
the next thing I knew a booking agency in Florida named Continental asked me if
I'd be interested in featuring for them.
"Featuring?" I asked, "what's
that?" (DUH!)
Well, as I came to find out, a feature
entertainer is what many (NOT ALL) house dancers aspire to be. It's supposed to
be the ultimate in a striptease performance...themed sets, gorgeous costumes,
cranking music, a gorgeous woman with a hot body and tons of magazine and film
credits to her name, doing raunchy, often messy shows that leave the customers
breathless and screaming for more. As a feature, we come into town for a week,
work our asses off, sell our videos and nude Polaroids, and then pack it all up
and head off for the next club.
Not a bad job, actually, although the pace
can be murderous sometimes. And, with our schedules often keeping us on the road
for 44 weeks per year, having relationships is nearly impossible. Being away
from family is tough. Constantly being the "new girl" in the club,
having to face catty house girls and grabby club owners all the time is tough.
But I love what I do.
And THAT'S why, when you email me and ask me
why I'm dancing at CLUB X instead of CLUB Y when I come to Des Moines, I have to
explain to you that it's because CLUB X booked me months ago for that particular
week; that they paid me lots of money just for coming in the door (a base
paycheck -- MY money, separate from my tips, to ensure that it's worth traveling
for 12 hours to get there in the first place), and that they probably spent tons
of money on advertising to let you know that I'm going to be there for ONE WEEK
ONLY, and that you need to get in there and say hi to me. :)
After all, how many times in this life do
you get a chance to have your picture taken with a nude xxx film actress sitting
on your lap, hmmmmmm?
